Bandana Boy!

Greetings, guys!!

Well we can't wait for tomorrow - our first ever dog display - the dogs even get to wear little bandanas with the logo on! I don't know how well Earl will respond in agility/obedience with one on... so we are practicing at home, tonight, with his own bad boy bandanna skull and crossbones design!!

So we are hoping that Earl will get used to feeling material over his neck whilst running and responding to me.

PUPdate

Sorry there have not been many posts for the past few days, but now I am back to school meaning no real time to update the blog or do anything worth writing about, other than a few of the usual fun stuff... like yesterday evening me and Earl went to our team agility class and as always, I was very proud - we didn't make any mistakes at all!

I also received my Young Kennel Club (YKC) Fetch magazine yesterday which is a very good issue indeed!!

We are also considering the YKC Agility Festival which will be a lot of fun, as you know, me and Earl ADORE agility!

I am about to print off, fill in, and send away our individual dog and handler agility and jumping competition form which will take place in about a month.

We have also been doing extra practice for our team's dog display on Saturday which Earl and I can not wait for!

The training ways and pub pics!

We had our agility class today, and it was great! 

Earl was very fast and enjoyed himself a lot, however, in the display obedience part, he planted his feet and wouldn't budge then he sat down on his little bottom and I had to pull him gently on... We think he needed to itch himself so decided to be stubborn and do it then! It was all practice for the display next Saturday - I like to think that every hiccup is a wonderful opportunity for training and stopping the unwanted and starting the wanted, or continuing the wanted. If everything just went perfect all the time, it would not be as interesting as working for the good. That is why it is called training; it's all about training the dogs up, not having to do everything with no faults - it's no competition - we are lucky we can go training! And if everything goes perfectly, that's very nice, and an added bonus! 

We are also at the pub as I speak! I downloaded the free Blogger app for mobile devices and now I am using it! 

Here are some pictures that I have just taken of Earl at the pub, enjoying himself and living a life of leisure, not to mention continuing being the total sun worshipper he is!! Here we go...:

The pub we are at is outdoor dog friendly, and offer fresh water bowls outside for dogs all the time, especially in hot/warm/mild weather, because we know our dogs can get hot with all that fur... Luckily Earl got stripped! 

You might be surprised at how many doggy customers there are at this pub! There's nothing like a dog friendly place - the staff will find so much more custom if they just let dogs and their owners in!!

CSJ

Earl has now moved fully onto CSJ dry dog food.

CSJ is filled with natural ingredients to promote a healthy lifestyle in dogs. Farm dogs are often fed this food to make sure they stay in top condition to face what nature has for them.  

Agility dogs like Earl are also fed on CSJ to make to make sure they stay fit and healthy for the obstacles they must complete. 

CSJ aims to provide dogs fed on a dry kibble diet a healthy, active, fun lifestyle, and to keep their coats shining and their eyes alert. 

I knew this was the right food to feed Earl as soon as it was recommended to me!

The pieces of food are larger than our old food, which means for a smaller breed of dog like Earl, it would take more chewing effort - good in Earl's case, because it may also slow the eating down BECAUSE of the larger kibble bits.

That is only a rough guide - the kibble bits are chewable!

50g CSJ dry kibble dog food.

Earl is fed the correct amount of food morning and night for the breed, size and weight of dog he is. 50g morning and 50g evening.

Raw food has seemed to overtake the kibble, however, I believe that a dog fed on a good quality dry food and is offered plenty of fresh water (more than those dogs on raw or wet) can have as natural, excellent, joyful life than those fed on raw. 

Fresh water must be given to dogs on all diets and types of food, however especially for the dogs on kibble, as they are not consoling as much moisture. Raw and wet 'comes with' plenty of moisture for the dog, therefore, those feeding a dry food must act and take responsibility when it comes to what their dog needs - it is vital!

Earl gets stripped the nice way!

Well today is the day - this morning, Earl was stripped by his breeder of all that loose, unwanted fur. 

He looks really smart!

We also got to meet his 4 month old adorable little sister Fern, and other dog, 5 1/2 month old Chihuahua Daisy.

WHAT a huge difference!

When we got home, I played with Earl in the garden, and I think he seemed to run faster, great for agility! Oh, and on cold days, that new coat of his can come to some use!
