Anyway, I am feeling much better now, and am glad to say that we have scorching weather for this weekend! With Earl being such a sun worshipper, and getting himself quite hot in the, well, hot weather, I have made him a treat-filled ice block.
Method of making:
~ Get a bowl and fill it just over half way (depending on the bowl size);
~ Get some tasty treats and drop them gently in;
~ Choose some small and large ones, and some floating ones and some sinking ones,
~ Spread them out;
~ Make sure there are some at the bottom, top; (and when you put into the freezer, try and get it so that there are some floating just in the middle. If this fails, halfway into freezing, VERY GENTLY crack the ice (not all the way!!!) and place a few in the middle. Then pour water into the cracks and leave to completely freeze)
~ On your first try, make sure there are some treats that stick out so that the dog understands that there are treats inside. The treats could be floating with bits popping up, or they could be, say, Smackos, which you prop up on the edge of the bowl;
~ Place in the freezer;
~ Wait until the block is COMPLETELY FROZEN;
~ Take out and gently take the ice block out;
~ Place on the floor outside for your dog to enjoy!
Your dog will lick and bite the ice, keeping him cool in hot weather!
Brilliant idea, yes!?

There will be more pictures, then!!
