Product Review - jw Crackle Heads Bottle Ball

Do you remember us first introducing this fun little dog toy in one of our previous agility competition successes? Well, we have had it for a long enough period now to know exactly how we rate it, and the pros cons, and overall thoughts for it. The Crackle Ball from the Crackle Heads series by jw is a toy with a twist.

The first thing Earl did with this toy is sit down and start using it as a chew toy! This is perfectly safe as it has a durable rubber holy outer shell, with the bottle part glued inside to make the noise and nothing hazardous. It is great for a game of fetch, is a great carry-around toy, and it is waterproof; in fact, it would pose PAWsome in the water!!

It keeps the dog happy for sure!

So now for my honest opinions on pros, and cons:

PROS:

~ Durable
~ Safe
~ Enjoyable for the dog
~ Lightweight
~ Safe version of a water bottle, which all dogs love playing with (genius!)
~ Waterproof
~ Floatable

So I have quite a fair line up of pros for this product.

Now the brutal truth…

CONS:

~ For us, the crackly water bottle part inside the rubber outer shell came loose from the glue keeping it in one place, leaving some dry glue exposed and the crackle moving about.

~ Crackle gets squashed and over time, looses the crackle more than before.

So less cons, but fair cons!

A fairly good product from jw - and a cool idea.

I recommend overall products by jw.

To be honest, it really is a great sound from the Bottle Ball, and not too loud at all!

Earl loves it!

So here is my overall, honest, star rating…

Purely for the fact that the bottle part came loose, however this is still safe for the dog as long as the rubber holy outer shell stays firm.

Enjoy!

  2. Looks like a fun ball, but a little small for big dogs. Do they have a larger size?
