I then had two soggy but cool and comfortable dogs!
Thanks mum, I feel so much cooler! |
... And so do I! |
So, I say, don't be afraid to douse your dogs, let them get wet, and they'll be much cooler, and safer, in this summer heat. There are so many things you can do to help your dog stay cool this summer! Embrace them, and you'll both enjoy them!
Does your dog get wet when it's hot outside?
We're joining our hosts Dachshund Nola and Sugar The Golden Retriever in the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop. We send many thanks their way, and you can join in below.
We never get hosed down. We need to speak to mom and dad about this! Thank you for the great info, Earl!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Hehe! No problem, guys!
DeleteWe don't like getting hosed down, but we love going in water, so we have our little pool and we go swimming on walks.
ReplyDeleteIt can really help our dogs cool down!
DeleteWe love getting wet!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
It really helps!
DeleteI like the water anyway it comes. Dipped in or sprayed, it works for me. A little added mud is even more cooling, just ask any hippo!
ReplyDeleteMuffin x
Haha, mud, of course! Earl's worst nightmare!
DeleteThe water sprinkler is a favorite around here!
ReplyDeleteOoooh yes, what a fun way to keep cool.
DeleteGreat advice. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on cats. But a nice cool damp cloth works just fine for my Athena :)
ReplyDeletePurrs xx
Athena and Marie
Of course not - cats and water, they just don't mix.
Delete"Oh dear, the dreaded hose" says Poppy. She likes it really!
ReplyDeleteA secret love, huh?
DeleteGetting wet might cool Kilo the Pug down but he has hated it so far. He does not want me reading this idea LOL. He prefers to be in out of the sun with a fan or aircon. We may get a little paddle pool for super hot days.
ReplyDeleteXS
Earl doesn't love it either. We have a paddling pool too, which they enjoy more.
DeleteI've been regularly wetting Mr. N down. He gets a little disgruntled but he's cooler afterwards!
ReplyDeleteUs as well - they may not find it heaven, especially Earl, but it really does help.
DeleteWe've been visiting the river pretty frequently so they've been getting wet. If it gets too hot in the house I will also mist them with the squirt bottle or use the cool coats we got. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to stay cool!
DeleteI am constantly pouring water on mine. I have so many dark-coated dogs here. Have you tried the Ruffwear Cool Coat? We did a review on it: http://walkswithrama.com/2014/08/25/product-review-ruffwear-swamp-cooler-vest-part-1/. We like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteWe have a cool coat, and we love it! Ethel just needs one now!
DeleteWe have our little kiddie pool that we like to get in. Mom says that was the best $10 she ever spent because we've had it for four years. We also use the cool coats that mom makes, depending on how hot it is.
ReplyDeleteWe have a paddling pool, too. The dogs love it.
DeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a retriever, I love water!
Y'all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Of course! We love your water photos! You live near quite a few lakes too, don't you?
DeleteI luv gettin wet!
ReplyDeleteYay for coolness!
DeleteI'm a non-water dog.... it's probably because I'm made of sugar and I could melt away that way :o)
ReplyDeleteeasy rider
Hahahaha! A sugar dog, are you? That's a perfectly sound explanation.
DeleteOur crew loves their kiddie pool. Luke loves to bite at the water hose, so I just ordered a water toy for him...can't wait to see how he likes it!
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Oooh, sounds like fun!
DeleteThey do look much cooler.
ReplyDeleteThey were!
