FitDog Friday and Paws Up - Doggy World Cup

Hi all! Because the World Cup is upon us once again, I thought today would be a good opportunity to share how to keep in the spirits of the cup, and keep nice and fit with your beloved dog at the same time! Win-win! CaCHING! GOAL!!!

Can you kick a ball? You don't need to be a football superstar to be able to play with your dog! Can your dog play with balls? He/she doesn't need to have been taught how to kick a ball, score a goal, do a header, goal-keep, or pass a ball to their team's player. All you need to do is go outside, and take a dog toy (preferably a ball, but could work with any) and a football. Doesn't have to be a proper football, just a big-ish ball.

The toy will block your dog's mouth, meaning he can't bite the ball! He will soon realise that  he must nose the ball. Just have a kick around with him. Great for fitness, and for World Cup spirits!!

Have you got the World Cup spirits? Has your canine companion(s)??

Here's Earl with his! We had an amazingly funny time, as you can probably see and hear on this video next!

Have fun! And don't forget you can pass on the spirits! Just copy and share our above Dog World Cup trophy image and pass it onto your friends! I grant y'all permission from the author herself (me, and Earl says go on then, hehehe!).

The FitDog Friday Blog Hop is hosted by SlimDoggyPeggy's Pet Place, and To Dog With Love - thanks again, guys!

  2. Earl looks like serious competition in that first photo! Barley humors me and noses a ball around for a few minutes, but she doesn't enjoy it nearly as much as it looks like Earl does!

  9. My sister Katie is a huge soccer dog! She was born in Germany and lived there until she was five, so that is part of it I am sure! She could do headers and everything. Her soccer ball was her favorite possession. Sadly she can't run and jump like she used to, a big dog at almost 12 yrs old. but she still loves to try to play with her ball. Sorry England isn't doing so well in this World Cup.

  10. Haha love it. Thunder will play with a ball like that but unfortunately I can't find the large ball he likes to play with.
