Dog Vegas (with Ethel watching!) and Bronze Warrant comes

Lovely, enjoyable day at DV today! It was our first competition in Grade 4… Which meant two of our classes were grades 4-7!! (Eeek!!) Well, the first agility we came 2nd out of 12, earning us 19 points towards our Silver Warrant! Then in both 4-7 classes, (agility and jumping), we were E'd!! That was because Earl, along with some other of the dogs in those classes, came out the entrance of the curved tunnel - with there being a few who did the same, it makes me wonder what was in that tunnel… I kept putting him back in and eventually he did it, earning himself flat out praise from me and a chirpy end to the courses. He was so fast though, it was a shame about the issue with the tunnels, but he was still enjoying himself and I will take the speed and happiness out of those runs. Great! Then our last one, he made no mistakes, beautiful finish and weaves, but earned 1 second time fault because of the beginning, which was less speedy! He still made no mistakes himself though, bless him.

It was also Ethel's first show to attend, and she loved it! She met lots of dogs, and cuddled lots of people. Plenty of that vital early socialisation for young pups like her had there today! It was the ideal place now she is fully vaccinated! The two played in the agility breaks, and had a fun time.

To top this nice day, we came home to find we had won a pair of tickets to Paws In The Park from Your Dog Magazine, and our Bronze Agility Warrant had made it in the post! We will frame it soon and show it off with much pride!!

We are a very proud pair indeed!

Now a couple of photos from the show...

Under blue skies, on lush green grass… what more could one ask?

Together packing up from a fun day's 'work'

Just after presentations

A fun, sunny day had, new experiences, new challenges, and new successes alongside! PAWsome.

  1. As my mom is learning with nose work. It is that absolute best to do well and pass or win, but the main objective is to spend the day with your pup and completely enjoy the fun of working together and spending time together as a team. That is something no win or loss can replace. Excellent work my friend! I sure hope I can bring home a ribbon next Monday at my nose work trial.
