Monday Mischief - Ethel's First Rainy Day

Today was Ethel's first rainy day with us. For the past 3 weeks or so that we have had her, it has been bright blue skies and warming sunshine. We have all been enjoying family time out in the garden as a five. However, today, the rain is pouring down. You know that annoying drizzle that always gets in your face? It started like that and increased in 'violence'. So, for something for Ethel to explore in, I took her out into it when it calmed down to a very fine drizzle. (We have a gazebo anyway so hid out in that for quite a bit!!)

She was confused indeed! She would just sit there and state at me, looking all lethargic when she decided to walk around. She would then get up and mooch around, peeing, pooping - plus we practiced some garden recall off the lead in the conditions. Then we went in, the dogs ate and now Ethel is sound asleep in her cosy, comfy bed.

But first, I did manage to get some NON BLURRY (!) photos of Ethel outdoors, because it was a rare occasion when she stayed still! Haha! They we're beautiful snapshots.

Love the head cock on the below one!

These two ones above are my absolute favourite!! I am very proud to be their photographer!!!

Then she decided to go toilet, and change her sitting venue!

I zoomed in on the below one because she was sure to move if I came any closer!!

What are you looking at my toilet space for? I'm about to GO!!

We also have a few doggy welfare tips for you and your canine pals in the rain…

The above one was such a great action shot! Anyway, the tip is…

Always supervise any wet exercise and limit it if any at all when the ground is slippery. Its very hard with pups, so try and distract your dog if they begin to run flat out as they may slip and pull something. This goes for any dog, puppy, adult, or senior, and any age in between.

The next tip is…

Always wipe your dogs paws and body after being outside in the wet. Your dog can become cold if left damp, and can slide on tiles if left with wet feet.

Plenty of mischief happening today! And a very exciting day for our little Ethel.

We're participating in the Monday Mischief Blog Hop hosted very kindly by Snoopy's Dogblog, Alfie's Blog, and My Brown Newfies - thanks again, guys!
