Tasty Tuesday - Carrot in an attempt to stop the Stink & #WeRemember

Recently, mostly since beginning teething, Ethel has had really stinky breath. Awful, 'pooey' breath… Earl has always had a carrot daily since 'earlier' on, and his breath has never been that bad. However of course, I cannot remember the exact breath type of him 3-4 years ago!!!

I have asked responsible folk on my most used and trusted dog forum, and looked it up myself… More doggy research of course!… and now rest in the knowledge that very smelly mouths are common and normal in teething puppies. So everything is normal!

But, just to assist the smelliness while it lasts mostly, I have started giving her a very small carrot stick daily. We started today - not only this, but it helps keep down tartar and keep general oral health in dogs in good condition. You've seen Earl's pearly whites before!!

At first, she looked at it, licked it, nibbled it, then eventually dropped down onto her belly and started chewing it properly. But I then found what a nibbler she is! A new treasure of human food, with a funny sort of taste, and cool and crunchy from the fridge. She nibbled it, and took the bits to one side to individually gnaw it down to one side!

One thing is for sure though that I have found out and confirmed after today's episode… A foodie dawg never turns down a new substance without a severe hatred!!

So I hope you've taken in today's canine fact… smelly breath is common in teething puppies, and can be assisted in the process with carrots that are low in fat, if put ANY calories on at all; OR, brushing your dog's teeth yourself using a doggy toothpaste with DOGGY toothpaste (important). Smelly breath can be helped! Make sure your dog also has plenty of chews to assist with teething.

So there you have Ethel's first carrot! Yum yum!!!

We're delighted to be participating in the Tasty Tuesday Blog Hop, very kindly hosted by Sugar The Golden Retriever and Kol's Notes - thanks agin, pals!
