Sepia Saturday - Let It SNOW!!!

We have some exciting news for you! It snowed yesterday evening, and continued throughout the night to leave a thick blanket this morning when we awoke! It hasn't snowed where we are for ages. Its been boring before now! And the Borders have been having the time of their lives! Well, Ethel more so… its her very first snow experience!!

And she absolutely loved the snow!! Leaving her tiny little puppy prints in the snow was a beautiful sight to see. She's such a curious little cutie, and much preferred to snuffle in and attempt to eat the snow than play with her balls in it… however she still managed to enjoy plenty of bouncy frolics around in it, kicking it behind her as she ran!

Ethel had a blast! And I managed to capture her first snowy moments to treasure!

Ruin the perfect blanket of white, you say? Its all about the fun!!

It was such fun watching Ethel's first few moments exploring the snow. Its so easy to forget she's just a baby and has the entire world in front of her!

Now Earls seen it all before! And soon decided his paws were way too chilly to carry on outside, and trundled inside to warm his cockles by the fire. Which was fine by me, as his comfort is prime, and he still stayed out long enough to enjoy the thrills (and possibly chills!!) of a snowy beard. I was impressed with his willingness to keep Ethel's puppy-like excitability in the air! Its contagious!

Tasty snow! Nom nom nom!

They also managed to run the snow down into a sad and sorry muddy mess by the end of their play session! But who really cares when fun has been had? We all enjoyed this rare weather occasion, right near Christmas, too!

Its time for us to cohost the Sepia Saturday Blog Hop! Woohoo!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve guys! Today, we have our final Christmas Doggy Gift Guide for 2014 - next year, we plan to do it again, bigger and better - focussing on foodies. I know its extremely last minute, but I'm sure many of you will make use and do some last minute Christmas shopping for your beloved pets! With the big day creeping closer, Christmas cheer is just around the corner… We give you...

Is your dog's skin and coat something you pay lots of attention too? Because it should be! On top of the grooming brushes, shampoo and clippers, giving your dog high quality food and treats to benefit them from the inside and out is the best idea around.

Let me introduce you too...

Webbox Walkies: Skin & Coat Bites

The wide variety of the new selection of treats from Webbox - Walkies - is just what your dog needs to stay healthy in the easiest and friendliest way possible - treats! And being soft and easily breakable, they're perfect as training aids and rewards - both to give on the owner's part, and to take on the dog's!

Salmon Oil and Vitamin E are included as prime in this selection to benefit skin and coat reliably. Just as with all the other selections in the Walkies range, they include 50% fresh meat to make sure you're giving your dog the highest quality treats around.

Owners can't go wrong!

Its the ideal present for all dogs this Christmas!! Quick before Christmas morning - organise something with Santa Paws and get wrapping!!

But before we go...

How do the beneficial ingredients benefit dogs?

~ Salmon oil includes the Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. It reduces inflammation and aids allergies.

Monday Mischief - More on the Pet than the Partner at Christmastime?

Did you know, at Christmastime, some owners spend larger sums of money buying their pets' Christmas presents than they do their partners, or other family members for that matter? But is this acceptable or appalling behaviour? It seems it varies over opinion! Some may say its cute and caring - others may wonder what our species have become! Are you a cheerful Christmas 'enthusiast', or a Grinch?

Our dogs definitely enjoy receiving their own Christmas presents on the exciting morning, and give not one simple doggy thought as to what sum went into it!

My opinion, you ask? I personally believe that purchasing our pets presents to open and enjoy at Christmas is a lovely thing to do. My family and I all chip in and get the dogs a little bit of something that they can enjoy along with us humans, sitting around the Christmas tree on the 25th of December each year. I say, why should our beloved pets miss out on all the festive and traditional fun? They're part of the family, and mean so much to every owner! And to us, money doesn't count as a huge consideration after purchasing the gifts. Its the thought that went into each gift - not the individual price of each item! For me, that goes for every family member!

And I wrap the presents too! Why on Earl's World not?! The dogs love ripping it off - with supervision for safety, its all part of the enjoyment and again, occasional tradition enjoyed by everyone across the globe!

Do you buy your pets Christmas presents? Give us your thoughts on the issue 'More on the Pet than the Partner?' Do you spend more/less on pets' gifts than humans'?

Its Monday. And its time to turn that Monday frown, upside down with some entertaining mischief! Even though nobody should be gloomy this week, as its almost Christmas, you can never have too much funny mischief, can you?!

We're delighted to be participating in the Monday Mischief Blog Hop, very kindly hosted by Snoopy's Dogblog, Alfie's Blog, and My Brown Newfies - thanks again, guys!

See y'all tomorrow, where I'll celebrate the day before Christmas Eve with a seriously last minute shopping opportunity in the form of a foodie Christmas Doggy Gift Guide! Get ready for it!

Sepia Saturday - A Surprise at Nuts

To kickstart the Christmas holidays, today, we participated in the 3rd Agility Nuts Winter show of the series. As always, it was bags of fun - however, we soon came to realisation that the AN crew had decided to mix not only our original mix of two groups, but add another group to today's competition mix for Earl and I! So it was made harder! But we gave it our all and did wonderfully again!

We grabbed ourselves a fantastically ran Clear 2nd place in Time Fault & Out Agility, out of 25 other competitors, including the new group added in, a 6th (Clear Round) in standard Agility, and a 10th (Clear Round) in Take Your Own Line (a very fast class - you can go wherever you want!). Some of the courses were meant for pure speed, and not as much accuracy… however we still came through with our accuracy, and I am chuffed again at Earl's speed for him! You could tell he was loving it again! He's coming on in competition every time! We have gained over 90 league points with our successes today, too!

So, although the mixing of the new level first surprised us a little, it didn't phase Earl's performance and we were still successful.

I took the dogs on plenty of field walks around the beautiful venue, where we attempted a few photo-shoots - all the passing by people and dogs caught Ethel's attention away from the camera (haha), but of course, Earl shined using his incredibly photogenic way! But of course, Ethel's almost (hehe….) there with the concept of 'sitting still' (maybe…)…!!

Here we captured the action of sitting on the mini hills - and as a bonus, in sepia (obviously).

The star of the day dawg in his prime!

So, overall, another very successful and fun day! I also have an ambition to purchase some standard weave poles to practice in the garden with Earl, to improve the speed at competition and aim for him to favour going through them more.

See you all tomorrow for some Black and White fun!

YAY! Its Saturday, which means its time we cohost the Sepia Saturday Blog Hop! Read on for more information…

Paws Up! Its Friday! - FitDog Friday - New Logo - Green Pastures

Its Friday again - and our favourite part of Friday - the evening, which means its once again time for us to leave the working week behind and plunge head first into the weekend! This also means its time for Paws Up! Its Friday! Here with us at EW! And as you can see, we've made a NEW, MODERN, and OVERALL FABULOUS PUIF logo, to show you ITS OFFICIALLY TIME TO PAWTY!!! I'm personally very pleased with it, me. What do you think? Leave us your thoughts. But first, we have a post for you to enjoy...

HEY HEY!! We're all in a brilliant mood this evening. Why? Because we've just broken up for the Christmas holidays!! And I adore the holidays! Especially the Christmas ones - I'm so excited, and really in the mood! But instead of going mad on Christmas today as such, we're concentrating on keeping ourselves and our dogs fit and in good shape over the festive break, where we like to wind down and eat delicious food!

Earl, Ethel and I will continue our long walks, play, runs, events, competitions, training, and agility throughout the holidays. I for one will make sure that the dogs stay sane - Christmas isn't exciting for the dogs - only when it comes to the actual morning when presents begin to be ripped open, and maybe at parties flooded with new people to greet, however they won't know why they're missing any exercise, so still put time aside from your celebrations to take out normal activities with your four-legged friends.

As you can see, we just love to enjoy walks over green, green pastures whenever the time of year may be, and whatever the weather each day. And we won't be forgetting that over Christmas - nope, not one bit!

So I hope you have all broken up by now… and have a wonderful Christmas holiday starting from the moment the 'bell rings'! We will be updating the blog as usual on a regular basis of our adventures, and hopefully even more now we have all day every day as free!!

Its Friday, which means its time for the FitDog Friday Blog Hop! Hop along, and see who else is hopping!

And we're delighted to be participating - very kindly by To Dog With LoveSlimDoggy and My GBGV Life - thanks again, guys! This hop is all about keeping a healthy and lifestyle for you and your dogs!

Thoughtless Thursday - Christmas Come Early for Earl!

We're back! And we apologise for our short break. I've had to put my efforts into thinking about end-of-term assessments at school, and haven't been feeling too swell either. But things seem fine this evening, and I've got my assessments out of the way. And I'm pleased with myself. So I can now simply sit, and blog.

Anyway, today, I arrived home to a massive, plump new doggy bed my mum had brought home! The plan was for it to be Ethel's, a bigger one to replace her puppy one so that she can spread out - this should come in especially handy when she has her spaying op the coming Monday… dun dun. Anyway, the bed was just too plump for Ethel, and considering Ethel just loved Earl's current one, which is a flatter bed now its older, we thought we'd swap them. Wash Earl's, let Ethel have it for spreading out, and give Earl the new, squishy bed! Well, he is the largest of the two, after all!

So Christmas has come early for Earl… he is a comfort monster and just loves snuggling up, especially in the cold, winter months after a frosty walk. And Ethel gets her dream stretch-out zone! She's growing so rapidly that her puppy bed is just out of date, I have to say. So Earl is pleased with his early, practical, but enjoyable and relaxing present!

Do you like the new bed we purchased today from Pets Corner, by the make Great & Small?

I'm looking forward to watching my cuddle monkeys enjoy their new bedding! Because if they're happy, then nothing could make me more happy either! I feed from the dogs, and the dogs feed from me - well, metaphorically, of course!

We're delighted to be participating in the Thoughtless Thursday Blog Hop, very kindly hosted by Ruckus The Eskie, and co-hosted by Love is Being Owned by a Husky! and new cohost, Barking From the Bayou - thanks again, guys! And YOU can join in with the list below - you can also see all the other Thoughtless posts posted today here! Its the least we can do to support out Sepia Saturday host, Ruckus's, other hop on Thursday!!

I shall see you all tomorrow for another Paws Up! Its Friday! EW addition! And you don't want to miss it! I guarantee it'll be apt for everyone out there!!
