Penalty Shoot Out… Or just plain mess around!

This is a game where the dog must wrestle with a ball to bend it like a four-legged Beckham and shoot goals using their nose. Preferably, no mouths or paws, as these could a) pop the ball, or b) swap the ball's direction using pressure from both paws on either side.

We had a go, and are getting a little success, but Earl loves the ball so much he wishes to bite it! Therefore I use a usual sized tennis ball for him to hold to block his mouth while playing! He obliges, luckily! Or else, we would have a popped ball and 10 seconds of attempted and failed play!

In the end, we just had a fun time playing hilarious football!

Football is another great activity that gets your dog's mental and physical abilities working hard! Its a lot of fun and bonding time as well! So get a ball, and get out there!

We are going back to basics and training using no mouth blocking ball, just treats, and a whole bunch of patience! Earl must be calm so he won't bother attempting to bite the ball in play.

Enjoy thoroughly!

And we're at CRUFTS this Saturday!! You'll LOVE our post then! I hope your looking forward to the post as much as we're excited for the event itself!!

  2. Those are great pictures and Earl look like a natural. I think brown dawgs would cheat and use nose and paws.

Thanks so much for joining the Barks and Bytes hop. I look forward to hearing about Crufts. :)

  4. Wow ... Earl is doing great! Great idea to give him a tennis ball to avoid cheating. My pups are notorious cheaters so not sure how long the ball would last here!
Enjoy Crufts and can't wait to hear about the adventure :)

So Earl had a ball in his mouth and was manipulating the other ball? Mad skillz if you ask me. :-) Have fun at Crufts!
