New Year's Resolutions 2016 On New Year's Eve

It's New Year's Eve, meaning 2016 is approaching at a rapid rate. Because the big change of year is coming up tonight, we decided it would be a good idea to make our New Year's resolutions and write them down today. And what better way than to start with the dogs?

Earl's New Year's Resolutions 2016

1. To gain my final Agility win and win out into Grade 6 at Kennel Club level in Agility and come within the top three overall places in the ABL Senior League in the Agility Nuts Winter League 2015-2016.

2. To continue to increase my speed, motivation and confidence in the competitive Agility ring.

3. To attempt to control my cheese and general food addiction, hopefully resulting in less whining when the humans are preparing any edibles.

Ethel's New Year's Resolutions 2016

1. To win at least three Grade 3 Jumping classes at Kennel Club Agility competitions and win out into Grade 4.

2. To gain more accuracy when attempting to complete more difficult Agility courses.

3. To attempt and hopefully succeed at the Young Kennel Club Agility Dog Of The Year Crufts Qualifier in November with natural speed and confidence.

My New Year's Resolutions 2016

(Of course, Earl and Ethel's Agility winning out resolutions are as much mine as their's!)

1. To improve my individual handling for Earl and Ethel as individual dogs when running each one separately in Agility.

2. To go for longer, more exciting walks with the dogs in different places to usual.

3. To ensure I get more sleep and have earlier nights than during 2015. Hopefully, this will result in feeling more awake and motivated to do things in my daily life. Although I don't need any more motivation for hobbies and activities such as Agility, having more sleep will hopefully make me even more aware and focussed in the ring, making me an even better handler and quick thinker.

And another one for me...

4. Start a successful YouTube channel and upload high quality videos of the dogs doing impressive activities such as performing tricks, running Agility and more, including uploading our first, introductory video.

We're pumped and ready to see what 2016 brings us!

We hope 2016 brings happiness, grand health, excitement, success and good times to everyone out there, human, canine and other animal alike!

We're joining our hosts 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like A Dog in the Thursday Barks And Bytes Blog Hop. We send many thanks their way, and you can join in below.

  1. Thank you for joining the blog hop.

I always resolve to stop swearing, but that usually goes out the window pretty quick. :-) You've got some great resolutions here and I can't wait to watch you fulfill them.

    Happy New Year!

    1. No problem! Resolutions can be difficult sometimes, especially if you've already formed a previous habit and resolve to break it. Thank you, and we also hope we fulfil them! Happy New Year!

  2. We have a lot of sports goals too for 2016. Mom says it is fun but very challenging trying to train and work with two dogs in the same sport as each one is so different. Happy New Year to you all!

    1. Sport is our main area for resolutions; namely Agility. My brain has a difficult time when I run each dog as an individual! Hopefully we shall improve.

    1. Both Earl and Ethel are competing in the Crufts Qualifier; Earl has competed in the same event a couple of times before, but has unfortunately always come just outside the qualification places.

  11. Happy New Year to you! Those are fabulous resolutions and I know you will have success this year. I tried to comment as we were headed up to our cabin and the land of no internet last week, but commenting on my phone never works and I guess it did not go though. Sorry about being so late stopping by and thanks so much for joining the hop!
