Team training

Last night, me and Earl went to our team agility training class, and had a great time (once again)!

I was extra proud of my little Earl, because it was his first time doing the complicated course we have to do NEXT WEEK, and he got it superb - following everything I told him to do! The hardest bit was the joint tunnels - I was sure Earl would come out of the middle... but he didn't! I was almost shocked that he did is straight away!

It was a hard course too - everyone was doing something at once - so much to concentrate  on, and we did it! Obviously there were a few slip ups, but that's normal, we can't be perfect!

Anyway, next week we will not only be practicing on Monday, but also Thursday, and then on the Saturday, we do our real thing! It will be an exciting time, however, it will also be quite nerve wrecking...

We are going to try our best, and do our best, and most of all enjoy it, that's what counts the most!

A few weeks after that display, we have an individual dog agility competition, so we have quite a busy few months when it comes to dogs! Yaaayy!!!

My gorgeous little boy... xxx

We can't wait to compete in the sport we adore, together - I have dreamed of competing in agility since the first day of playing 'Nintendogs - Nintendo DS Lite'... haha!! Now we're doing it for real! Dream accomplished!

Until our next entry, which will be tomorrow... Keep your eye on the blog because tomorrow's entry will be big with pictures!!

Small day out then walks!

Earl and I went to my grandparent's house today, and showed off all our amazing dog tricks, which were hugely appreciated - Earl got some cheese, and a tripe bone as a treat for doing so well afterwards - photos were taken!!

Diggin' out tripe!

Earl sniffing out my grandparent's tortoises!

Earl's dinosaur impression!!!!!

Ahhhh...

Then, afterwards, we went home and has a lovely walk...

We had a lovely day!

Of course, I gave Earl his at least daily groom, which he adored again.

Hope you enjoyed!

Grooming, walking and shading!

Today, I spent quite a large amount of time brushing up on my grooming skills with Earl. There are many awards for grooming to do with the Young Kennel Club run by the Kennel Club which we are a part of, so I thought we'd see what we could do here at home.

We chose a sunny spot in the garden and got to work. I took a few pictures of grooming in the process, one of the result half way through the session, and one of the absolute finished result! Then there is a walkies-prep photo, and some photos of Earl enjoying the shade, and the sun!!

Earl half way through the grooming.

And the finished result!
We had a great time grooming, and it really paid off because Earl looked amazing at the end! A really handsome groomed-up fella! I think we could successfully do some grooming in the YKC, not just at home - we know that grooming is not just for the looks, but for the condition of the dog's skin and coat, so we do it at least once a day!

After the grooming, I put his collar back on, as you can see in the finished result photo, and we went walkies...

Preparing for a lovely sunny-day walk!

Then, when we came home, I snapped some photos of Earl relaxing in the shade - its his favourite shady spot, I assume!

And this one was one of Earl from yesterday which really captures the glorious blue sky and how happy a dog Earl really is <3

So there was our events for today!

Sunshine, doggie farts and...

BBQs too!!

Hello all, today was a wonderful day filled to the brim with glorious sunshine, jam packed with warm weather and lot's a flaming opportunities for grand things like BBQs and sunny playtime.

Earl played the lucky boy when it came to titbits at our BBQ...

He actually got a large proportion of meat!

......He had a lovely run about and a play accompanied by his very best mate, moi...

Weeeeeeeee hooooooo!!!

It WAS fun!

.....Got lot's of other photos taken of that glorious little doggie figure and face...

...And battled against tadpoles for chicken!

Yes I feed tadpoles chicken... Earl's favourite!

To tell the tadpole story...

Me and my dad found a bunch of frogspawn in our 'big fish pond' and decided to save it so that the majority of the tadpoles would grow into frogs safely, happily, and healthily. As you can see by the picture, there are lots of them, and I am keeping them in a tank, feeding them fish food and chicken every day! Don't worry, no tadpoles were harmed during photo take! Notice Earl is slightly blurry in the picture? (his head)? Well that's because I was almost dropping the camera device to stop him reaching in any further with those leggy legs of his... so I'm raising tadpoles right now!!

Overall, we had a wonderful day, BBQs and all!

We really do hope you and your furry friends (and slimy friends like tadpoles don't forget!) have many grand times in the sun while it lasts, and hopefully continues!

Until we bring you the next fab entry to the fab dog blog Earl's World!,

Cold session!

On Thursday, me and Earl attended our twice-weekly agility lesson - in the pouring rain! We set up the equipment in terrible conditions outdoors, and then went round drying the dog walks with towels... literally; soaking puddles up!!! Luckily for us, the rain died down and we could get on with the training for our display in June (we haven't had much practice due the the weather having let us down many times - we needed this night desperately!).

I was very proud of Earl - he followed me so well, when I dropped my 'leading arm' because I was about to hit a jump, Earl followed it and swerved round the jump with me! At the same time as being disappointed that I had to pull Earl out of the round, I was thoroughly happy and touched that Earl was so obedient! Fortunately, we got another turn on our own trying the cross-over without a partner, because I had to pull Earl out the first time. He was super speedy, and we both had a grand time!

No pictures I'm afraid, because the weather was too harsh to take pictures. Hopefully the weather will lighten and pictures will finally be an option - I was thinking sorrowfully of my picture-less blog entry whilst running the agility course, surprisingly!!

Anyway, because we are doing crossover dog walks, I'll go onto THAT subject now. I am happy to recall that Earl doesn't bother at all about another dog approaching him then zooming off the other way on the twin dog walk at the side of Earl's... I was very very very proud of him, and can't wait for our future displays and competitions.

We also did some obedience, including leaving our dogs in a 'down' position or a 'sit' or 'stand' position and then walking around in a circle without them. Earl was excellent at this, because he stayed put and followed my hand signal to 'wait'.

So there's our picture-less (well almost picture-less...) entry of our wet and cold but fun session training on Thursday!

Until next time!

Earl and I.

Its not on entry topic,  but its cute and lightens up the post at a first glance - and at a middle and last glance, not forgetting the other angles!!

Our agility day, and some beautiful pictures

Well, today me and Earl went to out 1pm Sunday agility lesson and had great fun! It was a lovely warm and sunny day, which meant it was the perfect day for this sport we adore!! We both had a blast, and Earl was so speedy - as fast as lighting!

Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera device along to the lesson, so I can't upload any pictures, sorry.

On the bright side, I do have some beautiful pictures I took then edited - they look amazing! Here they are:

Looks great doesn't it!

They are great aren't they!! Hope you like them! I am really pleased with them!

We will hopefully upload some agility pictures next time!

MarrowRing - a Nylabone product

Only the other day, a MarrowRing by Nylabone arrived in the post for Earl! I had won it out of a Dog Magazine after getting an advice article published (I wrote it myself). It was very exciting seeing my article in a dog magazine (not for the first time)! It was also a huge excitement for Earl because he is a huge, HUGE fan of Nylabone doggie products! The whole household is!

I captured some photos of Earl enjoying his MarrowRing... here they are...

Nylabone products are top in our household!

Nom nom, diggin' in!

Nylabone products are designed not only to give pleasure and enjoyment to dogs,  but also to clean their teeth and keep their mouth in good condition! You can get so many Nb products.

'Its so tasty, my eyes close in pleasure...' says Earl.

So as you can see, Earl adores his MarrowRing to bits! Nylabone products are something wonderful, in our opinion. Earl has a few of the products. We highly recommend them - you can purchase them from most good pet stores, online, plus in magazines where you could win a product for your dog!

Well, hope you enjoyed our entry; until next time...

Off the leash adventures!!

Today, me and Earl went to our local field to have a game of fetch and a refreshing walk along the grass. It was lovely! I have captured one picture on this day - I couldn't take anymore though because my camera device was full!

Earl is barking madly for his ball at this point!

Anyway, you can picture it! Earl stood there, a wet muzzle and wet legs, barking madly for his ball... Then him diving after it through the long grass and fetching it right back. So you can picture it now, plus the photo!!!!!

We walked into the field more before I let Earl off lead, so we were away from the busy road. Then we played fetch, and walked a bit, Earl snuffling the ground happily. We had to be careful though - there were little black slugs about and we didn't want Earl to eat them of course!....

Then we saw a few other dog owners and their dogs, and then went onto a part of the field where there was a long Tarmac 'strip'. We played a game of proper fetch then! It was soooo very fun!

When we got tired and hot (even though it was wet and chilly) I put the lead back over Earl's neck and we came off the field and had a relaxing cool down stroll around the neighbourhood, where we met another dog, owner and children; and back home, where me and Earl did some off lead training indoors, then I checked him over for ticks (none luckily touch wood) and gave him a big nice groom. Then he had his tea, with some new CSJ mixed in with old Symply, and a sprinkle of branflakes for his anal glands, as he's had problems in the past with them bless him - all this, fed in our feeding angel, GREEN!!!

Now I'm writing this entry and sitting on my parent's bed with Earl at the end licking his paws and sighing in happiness...

What a wonderful day, hope you enjoyed hearing all about it!

Pub dog under the table...

Yesterday, Earl, family and I went to the pub as a bank holiday treat, and Earl played the pub dog under the table, lying under the table outiside for most of the time, and also sitting on a human seat on the bench and putting his paws up on the table whilst posing next to me! We had a lovely time, Earl chewed his StagBar and drank water whilst we sat and ate crisps, plus drank apple tiser!!

We also came across two other fellow Border Terriers which sniffed Earl - but one got just to close and they went for each other... after Earl's past experience with dogs going for him, I wasn't surprised at his behaviour.

It turned out, that the two Border T's had just had a swim in the lake nearby, and had dried off very quickly bless them!

When we left the pub, Earl had a huge wee; he must have been wanting to go the entire time, but holding it because he was having such a nice time, haha bless him!

I'm a loyal boy, Earl recalls.

Fun in the Sun!

Today, me and Earl have had a wonderful time playing out in the sun together! I have taken quite a lot of pictures!! Hope you enjoy them, and hope you also have fun in the sun with your dog(s) when the weather is lovely! Plus, Earl had to go back to pup days today - you'll see a piture of him behind bars (in a pen!) because he escaped out of the blown down fence panels a few times only the other day......

Hope you like them!

I personally love 'em!!
