K is for Kind - A-Z Special of Sepia Saturday

Today is officially K day of the A-Z Blogging Challenge, and today has been a very special, very interesting, and very snazzy day of hand stripping for Earl. So K is for Kind. 'Stripping' may sound harsh, but it is FAR from it, as we will show and demonstrate in this here post. We'll also be converting some photos into Sepia this Saturday!

Sepia Saturday is hosted by Ruckus The Eskie.

So, everyone ready to witness Earl's new look? The difference between BEFORE and now AFTER!? (P.S. Sorry if some photo quality is not 100%. I had to stand back and zoom in as not to disturb the process or upset Earl, therefore it was a little tricky! Still, I think the moral, occurrence and mood is still captured well).

Some photos straight from the grooming table:

Earl got tired and decided to rest his head. I was just worried he was choking himself… But still; multitasking genius - sleeping whilst being stripped!

All that excess fur, gone until it regrows...

Earl decided to attempt to eat the breeder's bracelet… but it ended up just being chewed and sucked.

Trimming that beard! Don't worry though - its still as characteristic as before.

And those loose, grey ear hairs of course...

See!!! Earl loves our breeder, A.K.A. his groomer! Hand stripping doesn't hurt the dog at all!

HAND STRIPPING IS KIND WITH A CAPITAL K!!

He also re-met his half sister, Fern, the Border Terrier also. They got along very well!

Fern will be having pups of her own soon!

Look how beautiful she is!

So, a very cool day for us today! No pun intended, Earl… I know you'll need your fleece on before the weather gets warmer.

Whoops, sorry! This is an old, hairy photo!!!

He looks and feels like a different dog!

  3. I don't really know much about hand stripping but I am going to look into it. I'm shocked that it doesn't hurt the dog since it looks painful. Glad to hear it's a kind procedure. :) By the way, Earl looks great!

  6. Earl you sure clean up well. I have never been to the groomer, but my sapiens are thinking it's time now that they are starting to get carpel tunnel. Do you recommend it?
