P is for Prevention - A-Z special of the Pet Parade & Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals Month

Happy good Friday! Because, I'm sure you'll all be well aware, this is the start of Easter weekend. And it is P day of the A-Z Challenge. Hey, did you all like Earl's report yesterday? OMD wasn't it something!! Anyway, today, P is for Prevention (you'll see when you read on why…). Plus its Paws Up! Its Friday! Afterwards, we have some PAWsome photos as part of the Parade too.

We're very happy to be taking part in the Pet Parade blog hop, which has become one of our very favourites! Why not PAWty every Friday? We LOVE interlinking it with our EW special Friday celebration, 'Paws Up! Its Friday!' as well! Which means we really look forward to Fridays.

And check out it's cool host and co-hosts! Our host is Rascal and Rocco, and Leah's co-hosts are: Jan's Funny FarmBasil The Bionic CatBarking From The Bayou, and the newest addition is Love Is Being Owned By A Husky!

We found this on Love Is Being Owned By A Husky - a great badge to share the hosts!

And our much-loved, EW special, Paws Up! Its Friday! which happens on EW only! Its special alright! It occurs every Friday celebrating the last day of the week, along with the Parade.

So, here's where we firstly share our very important issue. Not very PAWty like, but that's going to come at the end, so we can leave on a high note!

As some MOST of you are hopefully aware, April is Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals Month, and many bloggers have been posting about it, some even just sharing the badge and willing others to share on.

It doesn't have to be a massive speech, just let them know you're supporting.

I have made a special image to show that Earl's World! is supporting the cause, and wants as badly as anything for cruelty to STOP.

Share the badge, and post in hope. Go Orange for April!

…Or, of course, you could bring in dogs straight from the poor hands of cruelty.

I would like to introduce you to Mama Jade, a Pit bull, and her heroine who saved her life, Christianna Willis of 23 years old who is a real animal lover with a passion for helping animals. She works as a receptionist at PetMed Veterinary Hospital in Antioch, Tennessee.

In October 2013, Mama Jade was found in Nashville, seriously hurt, after wandering up to the porch of Christianna's friend's house. Knowing she was a dog lover, the friend contacted Christianna as soon as she could to notify her of the poor soul who had simply appeared.

Christianna noticed that the dog had many signs of injuries, indicating that she had been beaten and used as a bait dog. Mama had fresh bite marks on her muzzle, scars all over her body, which could have been animal or human, and had exposed pink and purple (!) flesh around her neck, where she had obviously been tied up tightly by ropes to a painful extent over and over again. Mama also showed signs that she had been relentlessly bred. Whenever they were touched, pressure wounds on her elbows badly bled. She had been tied and forced to lay on cement grounds. Some wounds were also caused by metal cage mesh. Most her teeth had been removed or were rotting, and scars were around her neck from the tight, uncomfortable collar she was wearing. In addition to all these injuries, the vets realised that this poor, badly abused dog had breast cancer.

Christianna says: "*Your Pit bull found me and I won't give her back". After a long time of struggling to pay for Mama's treatment for her injuries and cancer, she, upset, prepared to have to put Mama to sleep. She thought it was the most humane way to end this dog's suffering - and then the Craiglist ad went viral.

BUT, Christianna started receiving thousands of emails from around the country after her sentence (*) had been published as title in the Craigslist ad. Over the course of only a couple of days, she was persuaded to give Mama a second chance at life as many people offered to donate very generous sums of cash which would go towards paying for her treatments.

Four months later, Mama Jade is a new dog. According to Christianna, all the funds raised for Mama are being used well towards her medical expenses and care with the remainder of the money going towards other dogs rescued by Christianna's chosen canine charity, Music City Mutts.

A touching story of how one girl saved one dog from serious cruelty and abuse. Mama Jade is a fine example of a dog who could and would have died following any more neglect.

No dogs deserve that.

Credit to ODDEE news for the article, and thank you and well done to Christianna Willis, who saved one dogs life at the start, and went on to help thousands more at her rescue centre.

Make sure you go Orange this April.

Now, we will PAWty on with the Pet Parade!!

This Easter, make sure that your canine(s) stay(s) safe. Chocolate is highly toxic to dogs, so all those yummy 3D Ovals of the stuff pose a HUGE and possibly fatal hazard to your four-legged friends. Some owners may even be dreading the occasion.

Instead of letting your dog(s) become interested in your chocolate, how about buy them a DOG-SAFE chocolate Easter Egg that they can have all to themselves?

You can buy them for adults dogs and puppies too! Plus is different sizes. This should hopefully keep them away from your harmful chocolate! You could even break them into bite sized pieces and use them as training treats while your family members tuck into chocolate! Make sure, if you have children and they're doing a hunt, make sure that the eggs are hidden out of canine reach, in places where they cannot fall. A fun hunt shouldn't have to turn into a upsetting rush to the vets hospital.

Earl sure looks forward to having a safe Easter!
