Thoughtless Thursday - Summertime

Now summer is officially upon us, its time to adapt to the now slower pace of life as we sweat and swelter in the blazing sun. Walking with our heads down as we sigh loudly wearing minimal clothing. As we sit on the deck chairs and sneakily inch back into the shade. As our irritability grows with every exhausting movement of our bodies. As we'd prefer to go swimming than anything else. When inside is cooler than outside. When at the end of the day its still hot at 9 o'clock. As we rub the sweat from the bridges of our noses and prefer to take a cold shower. As we close our eyes and almost cook.

Earl - As we pant and we roll onto our backs. As we tan our under-legs and gulp gallons of water from the butts or the bowls our owners dot about everywhere for us. As we dribble and drool onto ourselves as we sprawl there. As we give up the exhausting chase on a cat we have been at for minutes. As we collapse under ourselves and let our tongues roll out as they almost reach the floor. That delicious dirty taste as we lick our lips again after that event. As we want to strip our fur right off our skins. When any activity we normally enjoy feels like a chore not worth doing anymore. As we close our eyes and bask.

Ok. So basically, summer can be really exhausting and hot. More so in some places than others. If you have a dog like my Earl, you will have a sun-worshipper. You may even be like that yourself.

BUT…

Summertime is when we can mooch about on dog walks, watch our dogs pant as they wear their cooling coats and never become as bored. Its too hot! Lets just chill!

Summertime is full of great things!

Heat isn't always a bad thing - just make sure you and your dogs stay safe in it.

We're participating in the Thoughtless Thursday blog hop hosted by Ruckus The Eskie and Love is being Owned by a Husky! - thanks again guys!

  3. Great post! Summer is definitely full of fun things. Although my huskies prefer laying down under the air conditioners on the hot days rather then laying in the sun, but they love to play out there.
    Have a great day!
